A former sheriff’s deputy was arrested at his home in Santa Fe Springs on Wednesday on suspicion of distributing child pornography.

Lorne Reed, 32, was at home with his two children when law enforcement officers from several agencies served a search warrant at the residence, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Reed was arrested without incident for distribution of child pornography, the release stated.

The children were taken also taken into protective custody, according to police.

Reed had been under investigation since April after detectives with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force discovered he was allegedly sharing child pornography over the internet, the release stated.

Reed was being held on $20,000 bail.
