A blaze that took firefighters three hours to extinguish overnight Tuesday did not leave anyone injured but destroyed a restaurant in a Rowland Heights strip mall, officials said.

The fire erupted around 10:06 p.m. in the corner of Nogales Street and Colima Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Flames had engulfed 45% of the building as of 11 p.m., the department said.

Sky5 was overhead around 11:20 p.m. as flames appeared to be out and crews hosed down the building. But it wasn’t until around 1 a.m. Wednesday that firefighters managed to knock down the blaze, officials said.

The business where the fire began, believed to be a Korean barbecue restaurant called The Thirsty Cow, was a “total loss,” the Fire Department said.

Meanwhile, adjacent businesses sustained some minor damages. Ten businesses were saved, according to authorities.

No injuries were reported, and what caused the fire remains under investigation.
