Fire destroys former site of deli and bakery in West L.A.

A large blaze destroyed the site of what used to be a deli and bakery in West Los Angeles late Wednesday night, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The fire was reported at 11:31 p.m. in the area of Westwood and Pico boulevards in the Rancho Park neighborhood of L.A. Video from the scene showed firefighters battling the flames, and at one point shielding themselves from the large and rapidly developing fire.

The destroyed building was the site of the former Lenny’s Deli, which closed in 2019. The commercial building had been unoccupied since.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation Thursday morning.
