An FDNY captain accused of molesting two boys during a visit to Southern California in September was in custody Wednesday in downtown Los Angeles after being extradited from New York.

Wilbert Riera was arrested at 7 a.m. in New York on a felony warrant and flown to Los Angeles late Wednesday, according to Officer Nuria Vanegas with the Los Angeles Police Department.

The 51-year-old was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center where he was being held on $2.6 million, Vanegas said.

Riera was charged with six felony counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 in connection with the alleged molestations.

It was not known why Riera was in Southern California or what his relationship was with the two young boys.
