Authorities are investigating the shooting death of a man in the unincorporated Willowbrook area of South Los Angeles Sunday night.

The shooting occurred shortly before midnight in the 12400 block of South Mona Boulevard, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies arrived to find a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body, a Sheriff’s Department spokesperson told KTLA.

The unidentified man, who had apparently been driving an SUV southbound on Mona Boulevard when he was shot, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the spokesperson.

The victim was between 30 and 35 years old, according to the Police Department.

Video from the scene showed the damaged SUV being towed from the scene hours after the shooting.

No description of the gunman, or gunmen, was immediately available.
