Firefighters located the body of a dog at an Orange County home that caught fire during the early morning hours Monday.

The blaze was reported shortly after 1 a.m. in the 5100 block of Brazo in Laguna Woods.

“The first-arriving crew found a single-story house with smoke showing,” the Orange County Fire Authority posted on X, formerly Twitter.

Video showed flames burning around one firefighter who used a saw to cut through and ventilate the roof.

All residents were safely evacuated from the home but crews located a dog inside that did not survive, the post read.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
