Police released new details Tuesday in the slaying of “General Hospital” actor John Wactor over the weekend.

Based on witness statements, investigators believe Wactor had ended his shift early Saturday as a bartender at a local bar in the 1200 block of Hope Street and walked to his vehicle where he was confronted by three suspects who had raised it with a floor jack,” the Los Angeles Police Department stated in a news release Tuesday.

The suspects were in the process of stealing Wactor’s catalytic converter when “without provocation, the victim was shot by one of the individuals,” police said.
