Three firefighters were injured as crews battled to contain a wildfire that broke out Friday morning in the San Dimas Canyon area near the Angeles National Forest.
The fire, which started about 4 a.m. near San Dimas Canyon Road and Golden Hills Road, had scorched 100 acres and was 25% contained as of 11 a.m., according to a tweet from the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Crews had managed to stop fire’s forward progress, the Fire Department had stated in earlier tweet.
Three firefighters, including two from L.A. County and one from the Angeles National Forest, suffered minor injuries in the incident.
The injured firefighters would be transported off the hillside by helicopter, according to the Fire Department.
Aerial video from Sky5 showed firefighting helicopters making water drops before sunrise.
No homes were being threatened and no evacuations have been ordered.
Horsethief Canyon Park and Dog Park were closed until further notice due to the fire, the city of San Dimas said.
