Firefighters quickly responded to a brush fire that broke out Tuesday morning between the Hollywood Bowl and 101 Freeway in the Hollywood Hills area.

The fire was reported shortly after 6:15 a.m. near the 2300 block of Highland Avenue, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Brian Humphrey stated in a news alert.

The blaze had burned about 3 acres of vegetation just northeast of the Hollywood Bowl, Humphrey said.

Ground units and water-dropping helicopters were used to battle the blaze.

More than 100 firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze in about 2 hours and 15 minutes.

No property damage or injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The incident comes as hot and dry conditions continue to elevate fire danger around Southern California.

Temperatures are expected to be between 80 and 90 degrees for Los Angeles County beaches. Inland coastal areas and valley could reach triple digits, according to the National Weather Service. 

Three records were broken Monday amid the recent heat wave. Cooler temperatures are expected to arrive later in the week.
