Corona Regional Medical Center resumed normal operations Thursday after a bomb threat prompted a lockdown of the hospital.

“No suspicious items or devices were located. Thank you all for your patience and understanding,” Corona Police Department officials said in an updated tweet.

Police responded about 11 a.m. after the threat was made to the hospital at 800 S. Main St., Detective Jason Waldon told KTLA. The threat was considered credible and the hospital was placed on lockdown.

Ambulances to the hospital were being diverted and officials were not taking any walk-in patients, Waldon said.

Surrounding side streets were closed during the investigation.

Naomi Biggs was visiting a friend at the hospital when a nurse came in to tell her the hospital was being locked down. She told KTLA police officers were going room to room to clear them. She added that people inside the hospital were allowed to leave, despite no one being allowed inside.

“You don’t know what’s going on, you’re worried something can happen,” Biggs said. “It’s always best to be on the safe side, it’s good what they’re doing.”
