A large mob from a street takeover ransacked a small business in Compton early Tuesday morning.

The street takeover happened outside Ruben’s Bakery & Mexican Food Inc. at 2701 N. Santa Fe Ave., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Shortly after the takeover was reported to deputies around 3:30 a.m., another caller said that about 100 people had broken into the store.

The front door of the business was rammed by a vehicle, which the driver left at the scene before fleeing, Collins said. Surveillance video shows the mob rushing through the store and running off with armfuls of items.

The other suspects left on foot and in vehicles, and when deputies arrived, they found a trash bin on fire in the middle of the intersection, according to the LASD.

No injuries were reported and no arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon.
