A vegetation fire broke out in Anaheim Hills on Friday in the area of the 91 and 241 Freeways, authorities confirmed.

Dubbed as the “Coal Fire,” the blaze was being battled by fire crews by 1 p.m., Anaheim Fire and Rescue said on X, formerly Twitter. The fire was initially situated between the eastbound 91 onramp and northbound 241 toll lanes in Anaheim Hills.

As of 1:29 p.m., Helicopters were dousing the flames to prevent the spread.

At 1:48 p.m., Anaheim Fire and Rescue said forward progress was stopped. The fire had burned about three acres.

No structures were threatened. A cause has not been announced.
