Authorities are looking into reports of gunshots being fired at construction workers on the right shoulder of the 605 Freeway in Baldwin Park on Sunday night.

Reports of ten gunshots first came in at 9:18 p.m. on the 605 north of the 10 Freeway, law enforcement officials said.

“CHP responded to the scene and shut down all lanes of the northbound 605 Freeway for about an hour to look for evidence of a shooting,” a CHP spokesperson confirmed to KTLA.

The suspects’ vehicle was described as a white older model Dodge Charger with two occupants, authorities said.

Officials with the Baldwin Park Police Department contacted CHP after the shooting to alert them of a gunshot wound victim at Kaiser Permanente Baldwin Park Medical Center; CHP did not confirm if that victim was related to the freeway shooting but said they would be investigating the possibility.

It is not known if any evidence was recovered on the freeway.

No further information was released by law enforcement.
