Two children were found safe at the scene of a bloody hotel stabbing that left a man hospitalized and in custody in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles Monday morning.

The incident was reported around 1:45 a.m. at the Cameo Hotel in the 500 block of South Bonnie Brae Street.

Responding officers found the suspect inside one of the units with two young children, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed to KTLA.

The unidentified suspect was suffering from multiple self-inflicted stab wounds, the spokesperson said.

Video showed a bloodied man handcuffed to a wheelchair being taken from the hotel for medical treatment.

The spokesperson said the two children were not injured in the incident.

A female victim was also found after fleeing the hotel.

Video showed a woman with blood on her face consoling two children but it was unclear if she had been injured.
