Officers responded about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday after a caller reported a car driving on the pier, said Jennifer Marlatt, a spokeswoman for the Huntington Beach Police Department.

The video shows sparks flying from underneath a fast-moving vehicle as it enters the pier from the street and bottoms out.

The driver, identified as 27-year-old Hojin Jang, then drives the length of the pier and circles around the Rub’s Diner at the end, according to the Police Department. The video ends shortly after the car returns to the entrance and three waiting patrol vehicles.

Officers stopped Jang and conducted a field sobriety test, which the Anaheim resident did not pass, Marlatt said.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor, according to the Police Department’s online arrest records.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
