All southbound lanes of the 57 Freeway in San Dimas have reopened after a brush fire prompted a closure on Wednesday morning, officials said.

The blaze, which burned near Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park, was reported about 10 a.m. and burned around 3 acres. Forward progress of the flames stopped at about 10:15 a.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Officials just before 1 p.m. announced that firefighters have extinguished the fire, but multiple lanes remained close afterwards as crews removed brush from the scene,

Authorities announced that motorists can access the lanes again at around 2 p.m.

San Dimas Avenue, which also shut down, has also been reopened.

Caltrans officials had advised motorists to use alternate routes to connect between the 210 and 10 freeways during the closure.
