A brush fire that was burning near Griffith Observatory in Los Feliz Monday night was extinguished in around one hour.

The fire was reported at 10:41 p.m. on the 2300 block of North Hobart Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. It was put out in 64 minutes, fire officials said.

The blaze was initially less than a quarter of an acre, burning slowly uphill with no wind and no structures exposed, the department said.

Air units were conducting water drops as firefighters on the ground worked to establish a perimeter around the fire.

The fire was ultimately contained to approximately 1 acre in size, with one small spot fire below it, the department said.

No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.
