A momma bear and cubs found a large tree to scratch on and a clean pool to take a dip in when visiting the backyard of a Monrovia home Monday.

Video recorded by @RICKYMARTINEZ87 and shared with KTLA showed the three bears wandering up the backyard pool around 12:30 p.m. when momma bear decided to cool off in the water.

The baby bears were not as sure about jumping in and stayed poolside to watch their mother go for a swim.

Several videos of the visit were posted, including recordings of the bear family right next to the home’s windows.

The trio eventually headed over to a tree they used for climbing and scratching before walking down the home’s driveway and back into a nearby wooded area.

“I could watch that all morning,” KTLA’s Chris Schauble said after viewing the video.

Wildlife experts say this is the time of year when bears emerge from their winter dens in search of food, which often leads them into residential neighborhoods.
