A suspect wanted for assault with a deadly weapon was shot during a confrontation with sheriff’s deputies on Thursday, authorities reported.
The incident happened about 6:16 p.m. in the 2300 block of Pacific Coast Highway in Lomita, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
The suspect was shot at least once, and taken to a local hospital. His condition was unknown.
No deputies were injured in the shooting.
A woman who was in the suspect’s car was taken into custody.
No other information was immediately released.
