An alleged shooter who shot and wounded three people including an officer with the Arcadia Police Department is in police custody Wednesday evening.
Just before 11 p.m., aerial footage from Sky5 showed a person being taken into custody, and it appeared they had been wounded.
The suspected gunman, who has not been identified, had been barricaded inside a home in the 2500 block of Greenfield Avenue for nearly seven hours after police arrived after a reported domestic incident around 4 p.m., authorities said.
Police said at least one of the people who were shot was a family member.
It is unclear exactly how the standoff ended, but crisis negotiators were called to the scene in an effort to convince the suspect to surrender peacefully.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, which assisted the APD, confirmed that the unidentified officer and two civilians had been shot.
The conditions of those three people are unclear, but the officer was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
During the standoff, police sent out a community notification alerting residents that shots had been fired in the area, and people were asked to stay inside their homes unless otherwise ordered by police.
Video from Sky5 showed a large police presence and armored vehicles at the scene.
The shooting comes just two days after an off-duty Monterey Park police officer was killed in a shooting in Downey.
