Authorities are considering charges against a man who was captured on video fighting with a 13-year-old boy who had just gotten out of school in Valencia on Monday.

The fight occurred around 3 p.m. outside Havana Savannah, a popular coffee shop in the 24000 block of Copper Hill.

Witnesses say the man, believed to be 46 years old, had been shopping at a nearby Circle K when he became agitated with a rowdy group of students from Rio Norte Junior High School.

“He said, ‘back up’…starting cursing at us. He pushed me and my friend,” Chase Devil told KTLA.

Witnesses say the man followed the group of students across the parking lot, and ultimately grabbed the 13-year-old by the backpack and threw him to the ground.

Video posted on the Instagram page “whatsupscv” shows the scuffle as the man tried to pin the teenager to the ground and against a car.

Some parents tried to intervene. Ricky Harmison ultimately jumped in to pull the man away.

“I could smell alcohol on his breath like he might have been drinking. When he got up, he was disheveled,” Harmison told us.

A report was taken but no arrests have been made as of Wednesday afternoon.

“What could possible charges in the case be? We can definitely start with battery- depends on the investigation,” Deputy Natalie Arriaga with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station told KTLA.

Anyone with additional information was asked to call the Santa Clarita Valley’s sheriff’s station at 661-260-4000.
