Three women were killed and another three people were hospitalized after a violent crash involving a driver under the influence in Pomona. 

According to information released by the Pomona Police Department, the collision occurred just before 11 p.m. at the intersection of White Avenue and Phillips Boulevard. 

When first responders arrived at the scene, they found that every victim had suffered “moderate to severe injuries.”

“Pomona Police Department officers and L.A. County Fire Department personnel treated the parties on scene,” the PPD release stated. “Unfortunately, two passengers succumbed to their injuries at the scene [while] three other people from one of the vehicles were transported to a nearby hospital where one of the involved drivers succumbed to their injuries.” 

Of the six victims, five of them – all women – were traveling in one car, preliminary information indicates. The sole occupant of the other vehicle was identified by police as Victor Siharath, 36, of Pomona. 

“Officers made contact with Siharath…and determined he was driving while impaired,” authorities said.

Siharath was transported to a nearby hospital before being arrested for felony driving under the influence.
