A 3.2 magnitude earthquake awoke some residents in the West San Gabriel Valley area of Southern California Monday morning.

The quake struck at 5:07 a.m. less than 3 miles southwest of South Pasadena and nearly 4 miles northwest of Monterey Park, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor struck at a depth of about 6 miles in the area of Huntington Drive near Eastern Avenue in the El Sereno neighborhood.

Huntington Drive is lined with businesses and surrounded by several residential neighborhoods.

A South Pasadena resident said the earthquake felt like a quick jolt. Light shaking was also felt in Glendale.

There were no immediate reports of injury or damage resulting from the quake.
