23 arrested, 29 guns seized in latest Operation Consequences efforts

An ongoing San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department crime suppression operation is continuing to bring in more firearms and arrests.

In the first week of June alone, search warrants served in San Bernardino, Adelanto, Hesperia, Victorville and Apple Valley resulted in 23 felony arrests, the Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Those contacted by investigators are “gang members and persons prohibited from possessing firearms,” authorities said.

In addition to those arrests, 29 guns were seized, six of which are “ghost guns,” firearms that do not have a serial number and are thus impossible to trace.

Photos provided by the Sheriff’s Department also show what appears to be a small amount of narcotics and illegal fireworks.

Dozens of firearms and arrests have previously resulted from Operation Consequences activity, and officials say they’re not done yet.

“Operation Consequences will take place over the next several months to curb violent crime, disrupt and dismantle targeted criminal street gangs, and locate and arrest criminals who are illegally possessing, manufacturing, and trafficking firearms,” the SBSD said.
