A pedestrian was struck and killed near the interchange of the 210 and 134 freeways through Pasadena Tuesday morning, forcing lane closures that impacted the morning commute for thousands of drivers.

The collision occurred at about 5:30 a.m. on the westbound 134 Freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle, though the specific circumstances weren’t immediately released.

Aerial footage from Sky5 showed long lines of cars merging to exit the westbound 210 freeway near the 134 merge.

The closures affect the eastbound 210 and its transition to the westbound 134 — a complete shutdown — and the closures of the Nos. 2, 3 and 4 lanes of the westbound 134.

There was no estimated timetable for all lanes reopening.
