Officials did not name the victims but identified the driver as a 19-year-old resident of Stanton, the rear passenger as a 19-year-old resident of Fullerton, and the surviving front passenger as a 24-year-old resident of Anaheim, according to a news release from the Anaheim Police Department.

Due to the severe burning of the bodies, officials were waiting on DNA tests to confirm their identities, the news release stated.

The crash occurred early Saturday morning in the 1700 block of West Ball Road.

One vehicle, which had crashed into the patio of an apartment building, was engulfed in flames when emergency responders arrived.

Investigators said the vehicle had been involved in a street race prior to the crash, but have been unable to locate the second vehicle.

It was described as a red Ford Mustang or a Chevrolet Camaro, however some have said a black Corvette was involved, the Police Department stated.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Police Department at 855-TIP-OCCS.
