A collision in North Hollywood claimed the life of one driver and sent another to the hospital, police said.

According to information from an LAPD spokesperson, the crash happened around 12:40 a.m. at Sherman Way and Tujunga Avenue and involved two vehicles.

One of the vehicles was traveling on Tujunga when they ran a red light and struck another vehicle heading eastbound on Sherman Way, the spokesperson confirmed.

The driver of that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. They were only identified as an adult woman.

The driver of the second car was transported to a nearby hospital and was said to be in moderate condition, authorities said.

Video obtained by KTLA showed the crumpled remains of the pickup truck and sedan involved in the collision in front of a bus stop as first responders began to sort through the wreckage.

Preliminary investigation indicates that drugs or alcohol were not factors in the crash, police said.

The investigation remains ongoing.
