Chips and dips are among shoppers’ favorite items at Trader Joe’s this year.
The Southern California-based grocery store chain has released its 15th annual Customer Choice Awards winners, which is based on voting versus actual sales.
“Like skilled athletes, certain products have risen once again to champion status, while others have entered the winners’ circle for the very first time,” the company said on its website announcing the awards.
The #1 Overall award went to Chili & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips.
“Crunchy. Tangy. Spicy. How could you resist? Turns out, our customers can’t resist, as this iconic Trader Joe’s snack takes the top spot overall for the second year in a row. Roll on, TJ’s snackers!” Trader Joe’s said.
Runners-up for #1 Overall included Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings, Kimbap, Steamed Pork & Ginger Soup Dumplings and Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese.
The award for #1 Beverage went to Trader Joe’s seasonal apple ciders.
“Cider FTW! But it’s not just our seasonal Cider that customers love. Adoration abounds for all things apple cider: Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Sparkling Cider Vinegar Beverages, and so on…,” the company said.

- #1 Cheese: Goat Cheese
- #1 Produce: Bananas
- #1 Appetizer: Creamy Spinach & Artichoke Dip
- #1 Breakfast & Brunch: Hashbrowns
- #1 Lunch & Dinner: Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice
- #1 Bath, Body & Home item: Brazil Nut Body Butter
- #1 Snack: Chili & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips (again)
- #1 Sweet Treat: Sublime Ice Cream Sandwiches
If your favorite item didn’t win an award this year, it may be because it’s been inducted into Trader Joe’s Product Hall of Fame and is no longer be eligible.
“As the years have gone on, some products have so consistently won in their category (or even multiple categories) that we felt the time was right to take them out of contention, so that other products might get their turn in the spotlight.”
Hall of Famers include Trader Joe’s Mandarin Orange Chicken, Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, Peanut Butter Filled Pretzel Nuggets, Unexpected Cheddar, and Trader Joe’s Soy Chorizo.
