This is new at the Nixon Presidential Library and Museum. “Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors. This collection of 66-color portraits and a four-panel mural painted by former President George Bush. These are the faces of members of the U.S. military who have served the nation since the tragedy of the 9/11 attacks.

The nixonlibrary.gov website has visitor information, and it says the exhibition features a companion book as well as an app where you can hear Mr. Bush tell the stories of all of the warriors he painted.

 Los Angeles philanthropist and entrepreneur Bernard Kinsey is talking about THE KINSEY AFRICAN AMERICAN ART AND HISTORY COLLECTION, an outstanding exhibition at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.

The inspired work of Bernard and Shirley Kinsey, and their son Khalil, is considered one of the largest and most comprehensive of its kind.

Curated by Khalil Kinsey and historian Larry Earl, the exhibition focuses on the lives, and accomplishments from the 16th century through the years of slavery and emancipation to the civil rights movement and modern-day.

It’s what the art community describes as “the world’s first art amusement park.” It’s Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy, built in Hamburg, Germany in 1987 featuring celebrated artists Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, David Hockey, Roy Lichenstein and more. It lost its funding and disappeared. Well, it’s back and we can experience this amazing and unusual art and amusement park creation inside two huge Los Angeles warehouses. Puppeteer Bob Baker, the creator of the oldest children’s theater company in Los Angeles. His legacy lives on with the Bob Baker Marionette Theater classic “Magic Strings.”

“Soy la Desconocida,” is a pastel on paper work of art created by artist Judithe Hernandez, a founding member of the Chicano Art Movement. Just in time for Women’s History, a first retrospective of artist Judithe Hernandez is being presented at the Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture of the Riverside Art Museum. Congratulations are in order for the production team responsible for the look of the movie “POOR THINGS.” They won Academy Awards were won for the Makeup and Hairstyling team; Production Design; and Costume Design. Fashion expert Nick Ver-E-os explains why Holly Waddington received an Oscar.

In addition to municipal and county libraries, there’s the Los Angeles County Arboretum’s PLANT SCIENCE LIBRARY, a library most people don’t know exists! It contains an extensive collection of publications specializing in the history of the L.A. Arboretum, Southern California gardening, Botany, native plants, environment, water, birding, and more! Plus, the facility contains extensive research material and information that cannot be found online!
