It’s back following storm repairs and restoration! The California African American Museum reopens with a new exhibition. It’s artist Paula Wilson’s “TOWARD THE SKY’S BACK DOOR.” Among the fascinating pieces on display a massive all mural that includes a swing. The caamuseum.org website says admission is free!

Among the World War II aircraft, the C-53D Skytrooper named D-Day Doll. We can see and take a ride in the historic aircraft at the Planes of Fame Air Museum’s Saturday “Tribute to D-Day.” The Chino Museum’s special event honors the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the June 6th, 1944, land, sea, and air allied armies’ invasion of Normandy, France to liberate north-west Europe from Nazi occupation. His nickname is Mr. Saturday Night. He’s Eric Lynxweiler, the Museum of Neon Art’s popular Neon Cruise Guide. The museum says its charismatic super star is retiring this year from the summertime tradition. The neonmona.orglatours website says Eric will be available for three more tours before finally hanging up his megaphone September 7th.
