Los Angeles City Councilman Joe Buscaino joined us live to discuss a resolution he introduced this week to ban encampments within 500 feet of all the city’s public schools, and the recent protests against it.

The proposal is part of a debate on how to enforce the city’s sweeping new anti-camping law, which is set to go into effect on Sept. 3.

“There’s drugs being pushed in and out of the encampments, there’s guns being pushed in and out of these encampments, sex trafficking, domestic violence — no one should live in these conditions and our kids not be subjected to these conditions,” Buscaino said.
