This is described as “the Holy Grail of Hot Rods.” It’s the “Uncertain-T”, one of hot rodding’s wildest custom cars. It’s been missing for 50 years, now found by Galpin Motors Beau Boeckmann.

When I ask people if they know about “The Green Book” most folks reference the 2018 Academy Award winning movie. We can learn the real story at the Petersen Automobile exhibit THE NEGRO MOTORIST GREEN BOOK. This new exhibition looks at the reality of African American motorized travel during the Jim Crow Era in America.

The Green Book, first published in 1936 by Harlem postal worker Victor Green, listed businesses that would accept African Americans during segregation, documenting highways that could be safely traveled without the danger of physical harm and businesses that provided hotels and restaurants for people of color. Pan African Film & Arts Festival

The documentary “THE ORCHESTRA CHUCK BUILT”, one of more than 200 films you will see at this year’s Pan African Film and Arts Festival.

The documentary illustrates the story Charles Dickerson, the former lawyer who transformed into an orchestra conductor creating THE INNER-CITY YOUTH ORCHESTRA OF LOS ANGELES, the largest majority Black orchestra in the country.

The Pan African Film Festival website: paff.org contains ticket information and the screening schedule for the inspirational documentary. The two-week festival of film, art and culture begins Tuesday, February 6th.

Bowers Museum is celebrating Lunar New Year with a free family festival that includes impressive, cultural performances and music as well as free art activities and face painting. The bowers.org website says do not worry if there’s a shower or two Sunday when the festival begins at 11am because activities will move indoors at the Santa Ana facility.
