TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Rapper Travis Scott was arrested in Florida on Thursday.

Court records show that the rapper, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II, was charged with trespassing on property and disorderly intoxication in Miami-Dade County. He has posted bond.

Details surrounding his arrest have not been released. Nexstar’s WFLA has reached out to Miami-Dade police to learn more.

A legal representative for the rapper sent this statement to WFLA:

“Mr. Scott was briefly detained due to a misunderstanding. There was absolutely no physical altercation involved, and we thank the authorities for working with us towards a swift and amicable resolution.”

The Houston-born rapper rose to fame with his debut studio album “Rodeo” in 2015. He is known for his energetic live shows and successful albums, including “Astroworld.”

Last month, the remaining wrongful death lawsuit filed after 10 people were killed during a deadly crowd crush at Scott’s 2021 Astroworld music festival was settled.

The lawsuit was filed by the family of 9-year-old Ezra Blount, the youngest person killed during the concert.

Earlier in May, lawyers had announced that the other nine wrongful death lawsuits had been settled in connection with the concert. Terms of the settlements in all 10 lawsuits were confidential.
