Rick Chambers

Rick Chambers is co-anchor of the KTLA Weekend News and Sunday Edition. He joined the KTLA news team in May of 2011.

He is also a front-line, Emmy Award-winning reporter covering southern California’s biggest stories for more than 20 years. Rick’s first assignment in Los Angeles was the riots of 1992. Since then, he has given viewers first-hand live reports from the Northridge earthquake, O.J. Simpson trial, the Malibu and Laguna fires and the funeral of Ronald Reagan.

Rick has anchored political conventions and interviewed presidential hopefuls. He has rubbed shoulders with celebrities on the red carpet and talked one on one with the news makers of the day. But, he is as genuine and comfortable with the blue-collar laborer as he is with the mayor or the governor.

Prior to coming to L.A., Rick anchored at WSVN-TV in Miami and covered everything from hurricanes to the rise of the South Florida drug trade. Earlier in his career, Rick also made stops in Louisville, Ky., and Harrisburg, Ill.

He is a Chicago boy who graduated from Southern Illinois University.

Over the years, Rick has been involved with scores of charitable organizations and hosted fundraisers and award ceremonies for many of them, including the Santa Clarita Valley where he calls home.

When not chasing stories, Rick is an avid reader and lover of puzzles. Snow skiing and trap shooting are his sports of choice. He is married and the father of three children, which is why his hair turned gray years ago.
