Kacey Montoya is an Emmy Award winning reporter and weathercaster who joined KTLA in June 2013. Prior to KTLA, she spent more than five years at CBS affiliate, KOIN-TV, in Portland, Oregon, where she was an anchor and reporter. She also spent two years at the CBS affiliate in Palm Springs, California, and a year at WOAY-TV in Oak Hill, West Virginia.
Kacey was born in Orange County, but raised in Dallas, and yes, she’s a Dallas Cowboys fan! She graduated from California State University, Northridge with a degree in broadcast journalism. At CSUN, she earned many awards, including first place for TV in-depth reporting for her talk show on political free speech. Kacey interned at CNN Los Angeles in the entertainment news department.
Since joining KTLA, she’s won several L.A. Press Club Awards, a Golden Mike, and another Emmy Award. She is currently part of the KTLA Weekend Morning News where her special segment called ‘Kaceys Cause: 4 Paws” helps local rescues find homes for dogs and cats.
In 2017, she started her own 501(c)(3) nonprofit called Fix’n Fidos to help put a dent in the pet population by paying for spay and neuter surgeries for low-income residents in Southern California, and financially assisting pet owners with unexpected vet bills so they don’t have to surrender their beloved pets to shelters because they can’t afford their medical care.
