Steve Hartman is a KTLA 5 sports anchor.
Prior to joining the station, Steve served as weekend sports anchor for KCBS-TV in Los Angeles for 12 years.
Over the course of his career, Steve has covered numerous national sporting events, including 13 Final Fours, 15 Super Bowls, and numerous Major League All-Star games. He also was been nominated for “best radio analyst” by the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Association in 1996 for his work as color commentator for UCLA football.
Steve also received a nomination from the SCSBA in 2002 for “best radio talk show host.” In addition, he was inducted into the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2004.
His career began as the Daily Bruin sports editor at UCLA, where he won accolades for his coverage of the 1980 Final Four. After graduating, he joined KABC-AM as an assistant producer and then moved on to the Los Angeles Raiders, where he served as media relations and publications director.
Steve has also worked at KFOX-AM, and was part of the launch of XTRA-AM, Southern California’s first all-sports station.
