Dave Mecham is a general assignment reporter for KTLA 5 News.
Dave’s love of Los Angeles is a big piece of what he enjoys about the job.
Before KTLA, Dave reported for LA’s KCBS and KCAL. Other chapters included E! Entertainment Television’s distribution and marketing department. Dave was also a writer/producer for Entertainment Tonight’s Leeza Gibbons.
Dave grew up in Spokane, Washington, with stops in Honolulu and Barbados. He studied at the University of Washington in Seattle; UC Santa Barbara; and the Poynter Institute, a journalism think tank in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Dave is fan of modernist architecture and a member of the Los Angeles Conservancy, an organization that advocates for the preservation of historic places.
