Rick Lopes of the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) offers tips and resources for California fire and disaster victims to avoid unscrupulous contractor scams. Resources are available online at www.CSLB.ca.gov by clicking Disaster Help Center. The CSLB’s Disaster Hotline is open weekdays at 800-962-1125. Disaster victims can file for federal assistance and find further resources at DisasterAssistance.gov.
