Chris Brown’s attorney said the R&B singer was framed during a press conference on Friday after a woman accused Brown of threatening her with a gun.
Mark Geragos, Brown’s attorney, said the singer is considering legal action against Baylee Curran, the woman who claims Brown pointed a gun at her head on Tuesday morning.
“There was no gun or guns found in that house whatsoever,” said Geragos. “There were no drugs, that I’m aware of, that were found in that house whatsoever.”
Curran allegedly sent text messages to a friend saying she was going to set up the singer and has a history of run-ins with the law, according to Geragos.
“We are now in possession of a number of items ranging from things that purport to be a text sent by the accuser before she was picked up,” said Geragos. “Things as varied as restraining orders that have been filed against her, police reports that were issued in other jurisdictions.”
Curran was admiring pieces of jewelry before the alleged incident occurred, according to her interview with TMZ Live.
Brown allegedly threatened Curran with a gun, before demanding she sign a non-disclosure agreement and forcing her from his Tarzana home, according to Curran.
The accuser called authorities after leaving the home around 3 a.m., according to Lt. Chris Ramirez. Police were then in an hours-long standoff with the singer, who refused to let them in without a search warrant.
Brown’s daughter, Royalty, was not present when the Los Angeles Police Department arrived at home, officials said.
As police waited outside, videos surfaced on Brown’s Instagram page denying he did anything wrong.
In one of the videos Brown said he was asleep most of the night and awoke to police outside his home.
“I’m not coming out … it’s always going to be f— the police. Black lives matter,” Brown said in one of the videos. “Good luck when you get the warrant or whatever you need to do. You’re going walk right up in here, and you’re going to see nothing, you idiots.”
The stand off came to an end just before 1 p.m. and Brown was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
Brown was released on $250,000 bail less than two hours after being booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center Tuesday night, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
