A Bay Area woman suspected of fatally shooting her 90-year-old adopted mother and stuffing her body in the trash was believed to be hiding in the Los Angeles area, the El Cerrito Police Department said Thursday.
The remains of Mary Osibin were found on Dec. 2, 2015, inside a trash container at the El Cerrito residence she shared with her adopted daughter Alicia “Lisa” Osibin, according to police Sgt. Ian Wong.
Mary Osibin had last been seen by neighbors in August, months before her remains were found. Her death was caused by a gunshot, police said.
Investigators obtained a probable cause arrest warrant for Alicia Osibin, who was believed to be somewhere in the Los Angeles area.
Alicia Osibin may have changed her appearance to look more masculine, Wong said. She may also be using the name of A. Callico or Alex Callico.
She is 5 feet 8 inches tall, heavyset and has worn glasses in the past.
She was considered to be armed and dangerous, according to Wong.
