A former Palmdale High School girls’ varsity basketball coach pleaded no contest Tuesday to having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student player.

Marcus Anthonio Williams entered no contest pleas to one felony count each of contact with minor for sexual offense, meeting minor for lewd purposes, possession of child or youth pornography, lewd act upon a child, oral copulation of a person under 16 and two felony counts of activity involving material depicting sexual conduct, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced in a news release.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies found Williams and the victim in a vehicle parked on the side of the street on Jan. 7, the DA’s office stated.

Investigators later discovered numerous naked and explicit photographs and videos of the victim on Williams’ cell phone, prosecutors said.

Other sexual interactions between Williams and the victim were also found via text messaging and social media, according to the DA’s office.

The Lancaster man was facing four years and eight months in state prison and lifetime sexual offender registration at his sentencing hearing scheduled for March 16.
