A man’s body was being recovered after it was found Thursday afternoon in waters at the bottom of a cliff in San Pedro, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The unidentified person was found deceased in a tide pool area at Point Fermin, the department said in a statement.

An LAFD helicopter team was performing a hoist operation before transporting the body to Los Angeles County coroner’s officials awaiting at the nearby Korean Friendship Bell monument.

No other information was immediately available.
