A pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run on the 2 Freeway in Eagle Rock Thursday night.

The pedestrian, who has not been identified, was hit just before 10:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Though details are limited, the CHP confirmed the pedestrian was on the northbound 2 Freeway south of Colorado Boulevard when they were struck.

The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene.

One vehicle believed to be involved in the collision is still sought by authorities.

CHP officials could not confirm additional information about what immediately preceded the collision.
