Los Angeles firefighters battled a structure fire in South L.A., a few blocks south of the 10 Freeway, on Tuesday afternoon.
The fire was reported at 12:52 p.m. at 2638 S. Harvard Blvd., according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Preliminary reports from the scene indicated a two-story residential four-plex was “well involved,” Humphrey said.
Aerial video from Sky5 showed smoke rising above the building, with firefighters working to cut holes into the roof.
Sixty-four firefighters knocked the fire down in 30 minutes, Humphrey said. No injuries were reported.
The cause was under investigation.
The fire was in a residential part of the Adams-Normandie neighborhood, west of University Park.
A west-northwest wind of around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph, was predicted for the area Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Less than an hour before the South L.A. blaze broke out, firefighters were still working a small brush fire in Pacific Palisades. That coastal fire was contained and kept to less than an acre.
