A person was fatally struck by a train in the Central-Alameda neighborhood of South Los Angeles Friday afternoon.
The person, whose identity, age and gender have not been released, was hit at about 1:45 p.m. at 4421 S. Long Beach Ave., the Los Angeles Fire Department said in an alert.
They were declared dead at the scene after “being struck by and removed by firefighters from beneath a Metro A (Blue) Line light rail train that remains at the location,” fire officials said.
The 42 people on board the train are uninjured.
