The Los Angeles Police Department cleared two separate street takeovers late Monday night and early Tuesday morning.
The first street takeover was reported at the intersection of Foothill and Balboa boulevards in Sylmar around 11:30 p.m. Monday.
Video obtained by KTLA shows a dark-colored Mustang doing donuts in the middle of the intersection as traffic — which was stopped at a green light — watched on.
Eventually, police units were seen chasing the drivers off; footage from stringer service KeyNews shows a close call between a squad car and a pickup truck attempting to flee the scene.
It is not known if any arrests were made in that incident.
Around 2 hours later, another street takeover was busted in Sherman Oaks.
According to preliminary information, this takeover – which took place around 1 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Sepulveda and Ventura boulevards – ended in gunfire, and eight bullet casings were found at the scene.
No injuries were reported in the shooting.
It remains unclear whether the group involved in the Sherman Oaks street takeover was part of the same group in Sylmar.
