Lamp posts around Disneyland are being removed and replaced as a precautionary measure after several guests were injured when a lamp post fell over due to high winds in November.
“As part of ongoing maintenance, we routinely inspect, maintain, and replace the poles. As a precaution, we are replacing a small percentage of them throughout the resort,” Disneyland Resort officials told KTLA.
Lamp posts near the Jolly Holiday and Rancho del Zocalo restaurants and Pirates of the Caribbean attraction have been removed and replaced with wooden boxes covering their bases, according to Mice Chat, a travel blog.
Last November, three guests were injured after a lamp post located on Main Street, U.S.A., fell over.
One guest was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, while two others were treated for minor injuries and released at the scene, Anaheim Fire and Rescue previously told KTLA.
The toppled lamp post was located in the flowerbed around the Disneyland flagpole and is used for stage lighting during parades and shows along Main Street, U.S.A.
