Firefighters were working to put out a fire at a clothing store in downtown Los Angeles on Friday morning, authorities confirmed.
First reported shortly after 5 a.m., the fire took hold at Main Street near 14th Street in the Fashion District. The affected business, called Main Sports World, suffered a partial roof collapse, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Officials said the building’s load of clothing and textiles, as well as a mezzanine collapse, contributed to the strong behavior of the blaze.
Crews were working to protect nearby residential buildings, according to authorities.
As of 6:45 a.m., there were no injuries reported. The cause of the blaze had not yet been determined.
