A Los Angeles County girl who had been missing for nearly a week was found safe, authorities announced on April 1.

The girl was identified as Angel Marie Birchfield, 12, by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

“Thank you to the public, the media, Aero Bureau, and deputy personnel for their tireless efforts in the search for Ms. Birchfeild,” said LASD.

Birchfield had been missing since March 26. At the time of her disappearance, she was last seen on the 14100 block of South Cordary Avenue in Hawthorne at around 10 p.m.

The girl had health conditions that required medication, her family said.

The circumstances surrounding her disappearance and eventual discovery were not released.
