Redondo Beach police went above and beyond the call of duty last week to reunite a little girl with her lost shoe.

The incident unfolded when a toddler’s lost slip-on Vans shoe was found following a Redondo Police Department open house.

“If you lost this shoe at our open house, please let us know,” the video begins. “If you know somebody that lost this shoe at our open house, please let us know. We are trying to find the rightful owner,” the Police Department posted on its Instagram page Wednesday.

The story’s final chapter was revealed when Officer Lofstrom returned the shoe in an update posted the next day.

The dramatic moment when the officer slipped the perfectly fitting shoe to the little girl dubbed “Cinderella of Redondo Beach” was set to the classic Peaches & Herb song “Reunited.”

The story of perseverance and triumph ended with a high five between Officer Lofstrom and the girl, who then goes for a ride on an official Police Department golf cart.

“How cute is that,” KTLA’s Chris Schauble said. “By the way, bravo Redondo Beach PD for the production value of that social media post.”
